Welcome to the website of Poolewe and Aultbea Free
Church of Scotland.
We are a rural congregation in the North West Highlands
of Scotland. We belong to the Free Church of Scotland.
We worship jointly with the Poolewe APC congregation.
We would welcome you to our services, or to any of the
informal activities which are listed on our weekly Notices.
Most Sundays our service lasts just over an hour and
includes the congregation singing metrical psalms led
by a precentor, a Bible reading, prayers, a children's talk
and a sermon. Unaccompanied psalm singing may seem
unusual to you but we hope you will join in and praise
God with us.
Our denomination and therefore our congregation is evangelical, presbyterian and reformed. We believe this is the Biblical pattern for worship. We could write a long spiel all about what we believe and how we worship, but there are others who believe the same as us and have already written excellent summaries, so if you are interested, please read one of them here.
If you have never been to this part of Scotland, it's worth visiting. Even on a bad day the scenery can be breathtaking. We would be glad to see you.
